MDG Replication model required for MDGF with Co-Deployment?

Hi MDGF experts,

 

We are implementing MDGF 6.1 and I am not sure if I have to set up a replication model if MDG should send to the same client(Co-Deploy) and if we need to perform Key mapping if we use the standard OG data model.

 

In another document I read that you still have to setup Replication model for MDGF if you post to the same client. http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/6043b83f-1a37-3110-cd8e-f2dabb672019?QuickLink=index&… but this document is for MDG 7.

 

If, I do indeed have to setup Replication model do I use Replication via Idoc, services, RFC?

"OTF end command // missing in OTF data" while converting smartform to pdf

Hi all,

 

I am new to smartforms. The smartform is to be converted to PDF and sent as an attachment via email. When I'm executing it from VA03 through the output type (Transmission medium 5), after giving the output device name I can see the smartform output. When I'm pressing the back button

"OTF end command // missing in OTF data" this message is displayed. The mail is coming though but when I'm trying to open the PDF attchment, Adobe reader is showing the following error message

"Adobe Reader could not open 'file.pdf'beacuse it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged (for example, it was sent as an email attachment and wasn't correctly decoded)."

Following is the section of the code for PDF attachment

 

* Attachment (pdf-Attachment)

     i_objpack_temp-transf_bin = 'X'.

     i_objpack_temp-head_start = 1.

     i_objpack_temp-head_num = 0.

     i_objpack_temp-body_start = 1.

Issue with document created with a tax code related to a different Company Code

Hello,

 

we need to clear a document created with the tax code "YY" which is associated to the Company Code Espana even if the vendor of this document belongs to the Country Portugal.


When we try to clear this documents we get the follow error:


Tax code YY for Country Portugal has been deleted or incorrectly changed


The problem is the tax code exists but it is associated to Company Code Espana and not to the Portugal one

 

In order to cleare this document should we activate the tax code for Portugal, as well?

the scenario is :.
Vendor will directly deliver goods to Customer XYZ and he will send ASN
(Advance shipment notification) through EDI to ABC company.    can anyone please explain me the detailed step to create advance shipment notification through edi with all the transaction which need to be used and inbound delivery details.

Exchange Rate & currency conversion...

I require to do currency conversion at report level. I have a doc on how to do currency conversion. I'm specifically looking for a method through which I can load new set of exchange rate similar to version. This can be done either through flat file or maintaining Z table in ECC & loading from there. We already get standard exchange rates from ECC which should be untouched.

Please let me know how I can achieve this version like exchange rate calling? Is it exchange rate type maintenance is the solution?

HI ,

 

When we are login into our new Netweaver 7.4 system via NWBC we are getting pop-up , no content available error

At same time when we are login into old Netweaver 7.02 system or Netweaver 7.31 system it is working fine.

 

What could be the issue? How can we resolve this?

Strategy Maintenance plan scenario

Inspection type 03 - PP/PI not creating auto inspection lot

Hello Experts,

 

I've read the Best Practices for PP and QM master data, as well as the BPs for Creating and Completing inspection lots.

 

I have 03 activated for my inspection type usage.

 

When the PO is released, I am not seeing an auto inspection lot.

 

Please suggest the troubleshooting steps to solve this issue.  Some are auto creating and some are not, but my QM MData is correct for inspections...

SAP Business Object 4.0 User Session Problem

Hi , I've just got a problem in my client about SAP Business Object 4.0 SP5 , it's about Session Log Off Problem, the detail is:

 

          1.  When they log off from SAP BI Launch Pad, It seems like SAP Business Object didn't directly log off the user, so it's session still appear in                CMC - Session.

          2.  My client use 5CAL. It's impact for them is, whereas they've logged off, their account still appear in CMC - Session so sometimes one User                Login Seems to be 2 - 3 times login, and it achieved the quota of 5CAL, and other user cannot login, because of Conccurent User

 

How do we fix this thing?Is this a bug in SAP Business Object 4.0 SP5 for Conccurent License? I've attached the example the session didnt logoff whereas it has already logoff.

Scheduler Not Following Pattern

I have scheduled a transaction within the hourly tab to run between 3pm - 4pm and to run every 5 minutes within that range.  The job does start at 3:00pm and runs every 5 minutes but does not stop at 4:00pm.  Does somebody know why?

Printing issues through Hard copy option

Hi All,

 

We are facing some issues with the hard copy option from SAP. This is happening only for one user and only when the user prints from SAP to default printer. The error doesn't occur for any other printer. The default printer in the windows system is a RICOH printer and in SAP the default printer is maintained as LOCL. Whenever the user uses the hard copy option then a print happens but with a thick black line at the bottom of the screen.

 

I have checked few settings from SAP but none of them worked. Has anyone came across this issue. Can you please help me around here and let me know if you need any additional information.

Add external data sources to Webi 4.1 (xls, txt)

Hello,

 

What is the best way (if any) to allow my users to add in their external data sources to Web Intelligence 4.1? So that they can join this with Universes or just create stand alone Webi reports from their own External sources like Excel spreadsheets, .TXT or CSV files?

Local Workflow.....lifespan and looping?

I am an interesting situation that I am not quite clear on...in part due to taking over some "existing" workflow logic. Anyways....here goes....I have a task with deadline monitoring on it. When/If the monitoring gets triggered, it raises an event which in turn fires a "local workflow". Within this local workflow, there are some existing condition check in place (ie "send notification if 3 days....send notification if 5 days")....but here is the added twist.....after the "5 day check" it goes into a loop and will then send a reminder every 10 days.

 

Now my question is this.....if the user completes the original task, will that local workflow be terminated (logically deleted?) thus ending the loop....or will it keep looping out there? I would think if the task is done, that branch would terminate. No? Yes?

 

If "no"....can I check a workflow container value from the original workflow in my local workflow at the time of the loop (I know I can pass/bind container values when the local workflow is first triggered...but this would be after the fact and within the local flow) so as to make it cancel itself (ie. if task has been completed, it can check for something like "Processed = true").

Adding CMS for Promotion Manager

We are on BOE version 4.0 SP5 Patch 5. I am trying to locate instructions how to add new CMS so we can connect and promote objects from one system to another using 'Promotion Management' on CMC. By default only current CMS can be selected.

 

We have the systems - Dev, QA and Prod. We needed to reinstall Dev from scratch. After reinstall we cannot connect and pull content from other system

 

I searched for instructions but I could not find specific ones for SP5.

How to find the SAPS of my hardware?

Hello Experts,

 

I apologize for posting it if it has already been address in some other post. But I couldn't find it. I looked up in the link provided in the SAP B4 Sizing guide but the link isn't working anymore and neither was I able to find information on how to find the number of SAPS my hardware has.

 

Can someone please tell me how do I calculate what SAPS my hardware is capable of?

One gobal e-Recruiting with different lokal HR installations

Hello everybody,

 

we actually have a global e-Recruiting installation, but our HR Systems are decentralized. We have one for Europe, one for North- and one for South America.

All these countries have to use the global e-recruiting System, so we created an ALE connection from every HR to e-Rec.

In the ALE outbound-BAdI we modify the ObjectID of P and CP and add a prefix to keep the numbers unique in e-Rec.

 

As far as I know SAP recommends a 1:1 system constellation with one e-Rec and one HR system.

This becomes even more relevant by starting to transfer the hired candidates back to HR.

 

At the beginning of our project we were not interested in that feature because the standard functionality offers only a few information like Name, Address, ... .  We decided to make the entry in HR 'manually'.
Some countries would like to have that transfer and the question comes up how to differentiate between the target HR system?

 

Are there any ideas how to handle that or any suggestions about that topic?

The system parameter RECFA HRRFC also allows only to maintain only one RFC connection to one system.
